ICA Gender Equality Committee: Activities
The ICA Gender Equality main areas of work is the implementation of the ICA Gender Equality Strategy at the ICA at the global, regional and sectoral levels.
 It carries out a number of awareness raising activities including orgnising meetings and seminars, and issuing statements. It also has been particularly active in shaping ICA priorities in areas which are particularly important to gender equality. It proposed the ICA Gender Strategy (2000) and the ICA Strategy for Co-operatives Fighting HIV/AIDS (2004), both of which were adopted by the ICA Board and made official ICA policies.
The Committee has also engaged in an exercise to map women in the Co-operative Movement. It has collected gender disaggrate statistics on women in co-operative membership in addition to sex disaggregrate information on employees.
