Crowd Funding Guidelines

COOP.ORG CROWD FUNDING GUIDELINES

Cooperation in Action

OVERVIEW

What is Cooperation in Action?

Cooperation in Action is Coop.org’s name for our crowd funding section. If you haven’t heard
about crowd funding yet, it is a way to raise money for your project(s) from the general public. It
is an amazing way to fund incredible efforts and it is inherently cooperative!

Who can use the platform?

Any individual, company, organization or entity from anywhere in the world that has a project/
venture/effort rooted in cooperation and/or collaboration can submit via the platform.

How do I start to create a campaign?

Simply click Collaboration in Action and enter the requested information. It is that easy!

What are the basics of creating a campaign?

First, there needs to be a cooperative/collaborative core to the effort. Examples of this include
any businesses, organizations, charities, etc. working together for the same goal(s).

Then, you just state what you and your partners are seeking to accomplish. Including details is
usually a good thing! Tell people how they can help.

You will also provide incentives/rewards to those who back your campaign.

Finally, you set a time and a funding goal. You will also need a bank account so we can transfer
funds to you upon completion.

We will check the submission and, pending approval, your campaign can begin!

What do I get by listing my campaign?

Worldwide exposure to an audience that is very, very into collaboration.

Also, beyond our free social sharing tools we provide, Coop.org will allow you to generate an
article for placement into the appropriate news section of our site! The story can even have a link
back to your Collaboration in Action campaign!

Of course, your effort can reap as much funding as possible – there is limitation to earning!

START, PROGRESS & FINISH

Goal setting

Before you begin, decide how much you’ll need to raise in funding and how long your campaign
will run.  Once your Collaboration in Action starts you cannot change these goals.

Your story

This is important.  People want to connect with you and believe in your project(s).  Craft the best
description and “sell” your idea to the world.  Do not give out personal information, but do feel
free to tell about your background/your team’s experience and why you care about the effort.

Incentives and Rewards

These are not money.  Basically, these are anything else. Incentives can range from mentioning a
name on a newsletter to merchandise to tickets to an event and even a position in the company/on
a Board, etc.  Make it unique and worthwhile for people to get involved and fund your efforts!

Share Your Campaign

Share your campaign as much as possible!  This is probably the #1 reason projects gain
successful funding.  Tell people you know, use social networks, use the tools Coop.org provides,
write a news article to put on our site, contact media outlets, partner companies, etc.  Once you
have told everyone, tell them about it more every week until the campaign gets close to ending…
then tell them twice.

Get featured

Coop.org offers the option for getting your campaign featured on our homepage. For more
information please contact us at info@coop.org.

Payments

Once the campaign finishes at the date you set, Coop.org will process the funds and release them
to your bank account electronically.

After the Campaign

Make sure to thank your contributors!  This will help lock-in positive relationships!  Feel free to
include information about when they will receive their perks and how to get in touch with you.

Giving out incentives and rewards

If possible, send incentives and rewards to contributors as soon as you receive support.  If not, at
least send them as soon as possible.  Communicate with your supporters and let them know what
to expect in terms of delivery times and campaign success.

Contributing

Contributing is simple – just click “contribute” under any ongoing campaign. You will be prompted
from there to enter an amount and select a payment method.

You can contribute to any campaign that has not ended.  Search for projects that resonate with
you or browse all the ventures.  Contributions are non-refundable. Unless otherwise stated by the
organization, contributions are not tax deductible.

Every time you monetarily support a Cooperation in Action effort you will be rewarded in some
way.  The rewards and incentives are determined by the company/organization that is running
the campaign.  Your incentive/reward will be sent to you either after you contribute or after the
campaign ends.
